Durant in Last Asylum: Plague
Durant is an SR Warrior Tank, placed in C by every one of the 5 tier lists that include him. He is a swordsman who fights up close, and he is the strongest of the four SR heroes by power. He is a starter hero for the first days, so the question is not how to build him but when to stop.
Durant Stats
Durant is an SR Warrior tank. Level 1 starts at 2,565 HP, 14 DEF and 11 ATK. Command (CMD), the number of troops the hero leads, starts at 50. With level 150 and 50 star steps (10 full stars) done, Durant climbs to 1,610,139 HP, 9,105 DEF and 7,188 ATK, with 350 CMD. That puts Durant 11th of 31 heroes in HP, 28th in DEF and 31st in ATK. ATK is the lowest of the three, inside the last five of 31.
The table lists the hero's own stats from level and star upgrades. Gear, base buildings and Ravens add to them in battle, which is why the full build reaches 596,226 power. Full-build power puts Durant 28th among 31 heroes, inside the last five. Level 150 on its own, before any star, gives 1,252,377 HP, 7,082 DEF and 5,591 ATK. Unlocking Durant takes 10 shards, the 50 star steps take 975 more. One SR Hero Omni Shard counts as 1 hero shard. Once a hero has full stars, it can enter the Hall of Honor; the honor level goes up to 600 there.

Durant Skills
Durant fights at melee range of 250, one slash every 0.87 seconds. He has four skills where SSR and UR heroes have five: a sword auto attack, a two-swing greatsword attack, a leap and the support skill Unyielding. Skills reach level 30, not 40. The table shows each effect and the stars that improve it. Five steps make one full star, and the numbers here count steps. The heroes list covers the shared rules.
| Skill | Type | Effect from level 1 to level 30 | Upgrades |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slash | Auto attack | Slashes with a sword, dealing 73.5% to 175% ATK Physical DMG to a single target. |
Hero star 5: Deals 15% extra damage. Hero star 25: Extra damage increases to 40%. Hero star 50: Extra damage increases to 80%.
At star 50: 132.3% to 315%
|
| Blade Fury | Ultimate, 7 s cooldown | Swings a greatsword with both hands twice, each time dealing 285.6% to 680% ATK Physical DMG to enemies in front. |

Blade Fury swings a greatsword twice at the enemies in front, 285.6% to 680% ATK per swing, which makes 571.2% to 1,360% across both swings, and each swing reaches 1,224% once all stars are in. Leap Slash is a single-target leap for 246.75% to 587.5% ATK every 5 seconds, and it reaches 1,057.5% at the top. Unlike Bella and Lucius, Durant has no damage-reduction passive in his kit.
Skill Priority
Three Durant skills take Skill Badges. The rankings give no order for him, so the sequence below comes from the table.
- Blade Fury. It hits everything in front twice every 7 seconds. Stars 10, 30 and 50 raise its top value to 1,224% per swing.
- Leap Slash. It returns every 5 seconds and adds a heavy single-target hit. Stars 15, 35 and 50 lift it to 1,057.5%.
- Slash. Its top value of 315% needs star 50, so it comes last in line.
The support skill Unyielding adds 5 percent to ATK, HP and DEF and unlocks with hero level 30 and star 40. The upgrade guide lists what each skill level costs in badges.
Is Durant Worth It
Durant is worth using for the opening stretch and not worth upgrading. The rankings say it plainly. One calls the SR heroes early-game placeholders and says they can hold the front row or deal damage early on. Another says Durant, Robin and William are similar in strength and should not receive upgrade materials. A third names him the tutorial tank and says to bench him on your first SSR Tank pull.
The same ranking mentions a small shield on Durant. The skill list shows no shield: his three upgradable skills are attacks, and his support skill is a flat 5 percent bonus. What the rankings agree on is that he does not scale. Even the best SR hero reaches only 596,226 power, and SR heroes cannot reach the heights of UR and SSR heroes.
The video below is a general tutorial walkthrough, not a Durant guide. It shows the opening stretch of the game that SR heroes are meant for.
Durant Build
The SR rarity has no awakening and no exclusive weapon, so Durant's build is the shortest in the game. His power comes from levels, stars with badges and gear, and none of the three deserves a large investment.
- Stars. His skills improve at stars 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, 35, 50. Star 40 brings in Unyielding, which gives a flat 5 percent on ATK, HP and DEF, half of what the SSR heroes get from their own support skills.
- Skill levels. Star 20 opens level 5, star 30 opens level 10, star 40 opens level 20 and star 50 opens level 30, the cap for SR heroes.
- Gear. Pieces of gear add flat bonuses to his stats, and the gear page lists the slots and their costs.
How to Get Durant
Durant is in the roster from server day one, and 10 Durant Shards unlock him. Shards drop from Tavern recruitment and event rewards. SR is the lowest rarity, so he is among the first heroes a new account opens. The heroes list shows how recruit tickets and Omni Shards work.
Best Team for Durant
No ranking publishes a squad built around Durant. These squads are temporary examples drawn from roles and the faction bonus rule, and no ranking publishes them: he is a Warrior, so he joins Warrior lineups and holds the front.
| Squad | Heroes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Day one Warriors | Durant, Celia, Sivir, Kesso, William | Five free Warriors and the full 20 percent bonus before any pull |
| Second Tank | Arthur, Durant, Celia, Marlena, Sivir | Durant holds the second front slot until Daskal arrives |
| After the first SSR Tank | Bella, Lucius, Celia, Sivir, Kesso | Both SSR Tanks replace him, and the squad stays all Warrior |
The third squad is where Durant should end up. Open the best team page to compare the squads the rankings do publish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Durant worth building?
No, beyond the first days. Durant gets C on 5 of 5 ranking lists, so there is no disagreement. He is free and he holds the front row early, but rankings say to replace him when the first SSR hero arrives and to keep upgrade materials away from him.
Which Durant skill should I level first?
Level Blade Fury first. It swings twice and reaches 1,224% ATK per swing with all stars. Leap Slash comes second with a 5-second cooldown, and the auto attack Slash comes last, since its 315% needs star 50. Durant has only three upgradable skills, so the order matters less than for SSR heroes.
How do I get Durant?
Ten Durant Shards unlock him, and he sits in the hero list from day one. The shards drop from Tavern recruitment and events. No server age or premium pack is required. As an SR hero, he is one of the four starter heroes with a lower skill cap, and he is easy to open on a new account.
Who replaces Durant?
Any SSR Warrior Tank does. Lucius has 778,239 power and Bella has 773,500, against 596,226 for Durant. Both also have a passive that reduces damage from monsters. The UR Warrior Tanks Arthur and Daskal are stronger still, and Daskal arrives after 27 days of server age.
