Last Asylum Plague Heroes
Last Asylum: Plague has 31 heroes: 15 UR, 12 SSR and 4 SR. Every hero belongs to one of three factions, Warrior, Ranger or Warlock, and fills one of three roles in a squad of five. This heroes list shows rarity, faction and role for each one, explains faction counters and the faction bonus, and ends with a calculator for the Antitoxin, shards and Skill Badges a hero upgrade costs. To see which heroes to level first, read the hero tier list.

Bell is a UR Ranger and Bella is an SSR Warrior, so they are two different heroes. Ulfrid is also called Brian, and Greenwald is spelled Grenwald in the game.

SSR Heroes
The 12 SSR heroes sit one step below and fill most early lineups.
SR Heroes
The 4 SR heroes are the starter group, with fewer skills and a lower skill cap.
Hero Rarity: UR, SSR and SR
Rarity sets how far a hero can grow. All three rarities reach level 150 and share the same 50 star steps, but SR heroes have one fewer upgradable skill and a lower skill cap. Hero level costs Antitoxin, stars cost hero shards, and skills cost Skill Badges.
| Rarity | Heroes | Max level | Star steps | Shards for all steps | Upgradable skills | Skill max level | Skill Badges per skill |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| UR | 15 | 150 | 50 | 975 | 4 of 5 | 40 | 436,700 |
| SSR | 12 | 150 | 50 | 975 | 4 of 5 | 40 | 436,700 |
| SR | 4 | 150 | 50 | 975 | 3 of 4 | 30 | 170,200 |
Raising a hero from level 2 to level 150 costs 5,248,471,500 Antitoxin, and the price is the same for every rarity. The level you can reach also depends on your base: the hero level cap grows with each Sanctuary upgrade, from 5 at Sanctuary level 2 to 150 at level 30. Stars come in groups of five steps, so 50 steps make 10 full stars.
Factions and Counters
Heroes belong to three factions, and the factions counter each other in a circle: Warrior beats Warlock, Warlock beats Ranger and Ranger beats Warrior. The counter is worth 20 percent: a Warrior takes 20 percent less damage from Warlocks, a Warlock takes 20 percent less from Rangers, and a Ranger takes 20 percent less from Warriors. Check the faction of the enemy squad before a fight and bring heroes that counter it. The Warrior Statue, Warlock Statue and Ranger Statue in your base raise the counter strength of their faction, and the buildings page lists them.
| Faction | Strong against | Weak against | Heroes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Warlock | Ranger | 13: Arthur, Marlena, Daskal, Harper, Zoya, Bella, Claire, Lucius, Kesso, Celia, Sivir, Durant, William |
| Warlock | Ranger | Warrior | 9: Ulfrid, Billy, Joker, Annie, Nicole, Greenwald, Stellar, Hastar, Kafa |
| Ranger | Warrior | Warlock | 9: Red Lady, Cynthia, Bell, Shadow, Louis, Griffith, Bestar, Ash, Robin |
The faction bonus works inside your own squad. The bonus switches on after your kingdom's first Royal City Scramble. Three heroes of one faction give the whole squad 5 percent more health, attack and defense. Three heroes of one faction plus two of another give 10 percent, four of one faction give 15 percent, and five of one faction give the full 20 percent. This makes a single-faction hero lineup a cheap way to gain power, and Warrior has the most heroes to build one from.
Hero Roles
Each hero has a role, shown next to the faction on the card. A Tank grows in health and holds the front row. A damage dealer grows in attack and does most of the killing from the back row. A Support hero sits between the two with higher health than a damage dealer, and only Support heroes heal allies. A squad has five heroes in two rows, and most recommended lineups run two Tanks, two damage dealers and one Support hero, as the tier list shows in its best team section.
| Role | Job in the squad | Heroes |
|---|---|---|
| Tank | Takes hits in the front row | 11: Arthur, Daskal, Shadow, Louis, Ulfrid, Billy, Bella, Griffith, Hastar, Lucius, Durant |
| Damage dealer | Deals damage from the back row | 15: Marlena, Zoya, Red Lady, Cynthia, Joker, Annie, Greenwald, Bestar, Claire, Kesso, Sivir, Ash, Robin, William, Kafa |
| Support | Heals and strengthens the squad | 5: Harper, Bell, Nicole, Stellar, Celia |

ATK, HP, DEF and CMD
ATK sets how hard a hero hits: skill damage is written as a percent of ATK. HP is the damage a hero takes before he falls, and DEF lowers the damage he takes. At full level and stars, ATK runs from 7,188 to 25,074, HP from 693,254 to 3,197,912 and DEF from 7,827 to 16,929, depending on the hero. CMD, short for Command, is the number of troops a hero leads. It grows with hero level only, from 52 to 350, and stars do not raise it. The game adds the bonuses from gear, buildings, Ravens, research, the Hall of Honor, awakening and exclusive weapons on top of the level and star values.
Crit, Resistances and Damage Types
Crit Rate is the chance that a hit crits, and Crit DMG is the extra damage a crit deals. The defensive pair, Crit Rate Taken and Crit DMG Taken, shrinks the chance and the size of crits against you. These four come from gear and Ravens rather than from level or stars. Damage is either Physical or Energy: 8 of the 31 heroes use an Energy auto attack, and the rest hit with Physical damage. Physical DMG RES and Energy DMG RES cut damage of the matching type, and awakening adds both. Skill Cooldown Speed makes skills recharge faster.
Attack Interval and Range
The attack interval is the time between two auto attacks, from 0.5 to 1 seconds. Range splits heroes into two groups: all 11 Tanks fight at melee range 250, and the other 20 heroes, damage dealers and Support heroes, attack from range 800. The ranged group stays behind the Tanks, which is why the front row needs Tanks.
The Five Skill Slots
A hero has up to five skills, one per slot. Slot 1 is the auto attack, slot 2 the ultimate with a recharge of 6.4 to 15 seconds, and slot 3 the active skill that recharges in 5 seconds or less. Slot 4 is a passive that works all the time. Slot 5 is the support skill, and it opens only at hero level 30 and star step 40, which is 8 full stars. SR heroes have four slots, and their support skill sits in slot 4. The upgrade guide lists the Skill Badges each skill level costs.
Roles and Factions
The role table shows what the three roles mean in numbers: Tanks carry the most HP and DEF, damage dealers the most ATK, and Support heroes sit between the two on HP and DEF while their ATK stays close to the damage dealers. Factions do not change stats directly, but they set the counter circle and the squad bonus, both covered in the sections above.
The video below explains how heroes work for new players, from recruiting and roles to the first upgrades.
How to Get Heroes
Most heroes come from the Tavern. Open Hero Recruitment, spend a Hero Recruitment Ticket, and you receive shards of a hero. A ticket costs 398 Diamonds, and each recruit banner has one free pull on a timer. A shard drops in about 26 percent of pulls. A hero unlocks when you hold 10 of his own shards, and every 50th pull gives 10 shards of a UR hero, so it unlocks that hero at once. Events and Daily Offers add more heroes, and you can earn extra Diamonds for recruiting from the gift codes list.
Omni Shards come in UR, SSR and SR versions and can stand in for hero shards of that rarity, although some heroes cannot be redeemed with Omni Shards. Hero Awaken Omni Shards are a separate type used for hero awakening, which the Era of Revival event puts in focus. New heroes also join the Tavern on later server days, so a young server does not offer every hero from day one.
Hero Upgrade Calculator
Pick a hero, set the current and target level, star progress and skill level, and the calculator adds up the Antitoxin, hero shards and Skill Badges you need. Use it before you commit resources, and read the upgrade guide for the order of upgrades.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many heroes are in Last Asylum?
Last Asylum: Plague has 31 heroes: 15 UR, 12 SSR and 4 SR. Each hero belongs to one of three factions, Warrior, Ranger or Warlock, and plays one of three roles, Tank, damage dealer or Support. Some guides count 32 heroes because they add the UR version of Claire, who starts as an SSR hero.
Who are the best heroes for beginners?
Arthur and Marlena are the two UR heroes with no server day condition, so you can build around them from the start. A simple beginner lineup puts Arthur and Bella in the front row and Marlena, Claire and Celia behind them. All five are Warriors, which gives the squad the full faction bonus. For a ranking of every hero, open the tier list.
What is the best faction in Last Asylum?
No faction is best in every fight, because the three factions counter each other in a circle: Warrior beats Warlock, Warlock beats Ranger and Ranger beats Warrior. Warrior has the most heroes, 13, and the easiest path to a full five-hero faction squad. Pick your faction by the enemy squad you face and the heroes you already own.
What is the difference between UR and SSR heroes?
UR is the highest rarity and SSR is the one below it. Both rarities reach level 150, use the same 50 star steps and have four upgradable skills with a maximum level of 40. The gap is in power and stats, and UR heroes also count for Awakening. SSR heroes are easier to find early and work well in a starting lineup.
How do I get Omni Shards?
Omni Shards come in UR, SSR and SR versions and fit any hero of that rarity. The Weekly Offer sells them, and events add them as rewards. Awakening uses its own Hero Awaken Omni Shards, so keep those separate from the shards you use for stars. The Awakening page explains where each type is spent.
How do I unlock a new hero?
A hero unlocks when you collect 10 of his own shards. Open the Tavern and recruit with Hero Recruitment Tickets, each of which costs 398 Diamonds, and every recruit banner has one free pull. A shard drops in about 26 percent of pulls, and every 50th pull gives 10 shards of a UR hero, which unlocks him at once.
