Hastar in Last Asylum: Plague
Hastar is an SSR Warlock Tank, and 3 of the 5 popular tier lists give him A. He fights with tentacles, deals Energy DMG and stuns a target, so he plays more like a control fighter than a wall. Hastar is most useful in PvP, where a stun gives his damage dealers time to work, and he has less to offer in a plain monster fight.
Hastar Stats
Hastar is an SSR Warlock tank. Hastar begins at level 1 with 2,815 HP, 17 DEF and 14 ATK, plus 50 Command (CMD), the troops the hero leads. At level 150 with all 50 star steps (10 full stars) the same hero reaches 1,766,680 HP, 11,021 DEF and 9,424 ATK, plus 350 CMD. That puts Hastar 10th of 31 heroes in HP, 18th in DEF and 27th in ATK. The weakest stat is ATK, a place among the last five of 31.
The table lists the hero's own stats from level and star upgrades. Base buildings, gear and Ravens add to them in battle, which is why the full build reaches 750,047 power. By full-build power Hastar ranks 19th of 31. Before star steps, Hastar at level 150 stands at 1,374,136 HP, 8,574 DEF and 7,331 ATK. 10 shards unlock Hastar, and the 50 star steps cost 975 shards more. In shard terms, 1 SSR Hero Omni Shard equals 1 hero shard. A hero with full stars can join the Hall of Honor, where the honor level goes up to 600.

Undercurrent knocks one enemy into the air for 207.9% to 594% ATK and stuns it for 1 second. Scorn Guard gives a shield of 3.15% to 9% of max HP, which grows to 16.2% with upgrades, and the shield absorbs 50% of incoming damage.
Skill Priority
Four of Hastar's skills take Skill Badges. The order below follows the rankings and the skill numbers.
- Wrath of Old Gods. It is the largest hit in his kit and recharges in 7 seconds. Extra damage grows with stars 10, 30 and 50.
- Undercurrent. The stun is the reason to bring Hastar, and the 5 second cooldown keeps it available. Its upgrades come at stars 15, 35 and 45.
- Scorn Guard. It triggers once per fight, so extra levels help less than the two attacks. Star 45 adds 2 seconds of shield time, and star 50 raises the shield effect by 55%.
- Lash. At star 50 the lash reaches 534.6% ATK, but it still goes last.
Hastar Build
Hastar cannot be awakened and has no exclusive weapon, because both are limited to UR heroes. His build comes from stars, Skill Badges and gear. All 50 stars cost 975 shards, and star 40 unlocks Tenacity for 10 percent ATK, HP and DEF.
Each skill level step has its own star requirement: 20 stars for level 5, 30 for level 10, 40 for level 20 and 50 for level 30. As a Tank he lives on HP and DEF, so armor and boots go first. See the gear page for slots and the upgrade guide for the cost of each step.
Is Hastar Worth It
Hastar is worth it if you play PvP or want a control option, and he is a secondary pick for PvE. Rankings call him a crowd control hybrid and put his value in stopping key targets, with one saying he can interrupt enemy top skills. They also agree that the same control does little against computer controlled monsters, so he is a mode specific hero.
His maximum power is 750,047, the lowest of the four SSR Tanks: Lucius 778,239, Bella 773,500, Griffith 764,263, Hastar 750,047. The video below is a beginner hero guide for the game and not a Hastar video, but it helps you decide which heroes deserve your first shards.
Hastar is not the first Tank to build. The better picks for a stable front row are Arthur and the SSR Tanks that cut monster damage. Add Hastar when you want control on top of a squad that already stands.
How to Get Hastar
Hastar has no server day to wait for, because his unlock day is 0. Ten Hastar Shards unlock him. He collects them through the tavern and event prizes, while SSR Omni Shards cover the gaps. The heroes list has the details on tickets, pull rates and Omni Shards. Plan for the long road after the unlock too, since all 50 stars need 975 shards, and a Tank without stars loses most of the upgrades listed above.
Best Team for Hastar
Hastar stands in the front row with a second Tank, and his stun opens the fight for the damage dealers. The PvP squad in the table is the one that rankings build around him.
| Squad | Heroes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| PvP control | Arthur, Marlena, Hastar, Stellar, Griffith or Claire | Stuns, strong burst and a healer |
| Alliance Expedition | Arthur, Ulfrid, Marlena, Hastar, Stellar | Enemies that deal more than physical damage |
| Budget Warriors | Celia, Lucius, Sivir, Bella, Hastar | Accounts without UR heroes |
Arthur's damage cut covers physical damage only, so one ranking adds Ulfrid, listed as Brian there, as the second Tank for Alliance Expedition and PvP. Open the best team page for other squads, and the PvP page for the mode itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hastar worth building?
Hastar is worth building for PvP and for control. He earns A in 3 of the 5 lists that rank him, with single ratings from B+ to A+. Rankings place him higher in PvP than in PvE, because his stun matters against players. For a PvE squad the core of Arthur, Marlena and a healer comes first.
Which Hastar skill should I level first?
Level Wrath of Old Gods first, because it deals 3,623.4% ATK Energy DMG at the top. Undercurrent is second since it stuns the target and recharges every 5 seconds. Scorn Guard is third, and the auto attack Lash is last. Badges are not spent on the support skill Tenacity.
How do I get Hastar?
Hastar needs no server day. Ten Hastar Shards unlock him, the shards come from tavern draws and event rewards, and an SSR Omni Shard can stand in for a missing one. Collecting can begin right away.
Is Hastar a real Tank?
Hastar is listed as a Tank, but his kit is closer to control and burst than to plain mitigation. He has no damage cut for the squad. His own protection is Scorn Guard, a shield that appears once when his HP first falls below 40%. Pair him with a healer like Stellar and a second Tank for a stable front row.
Does Hastar have an exclusive weapon or awakening?
No, both belong to UR heroes. Hastar grows through hero level, stars, Skill Badges and gear. Spend shards on stars first. The full 50 stars matter most, because the last upgrade of every damage skill and Scorn Guard comes at star 45 or 50.
