Last Asylum Plague Guide

Published: 2026-10-25

The strongest Last Asylum: Plague strategy is to level the Sanctuary first, run Development research in the Research Lab next, and put hero, gear and troop upgrades behind them. Every other building is capped at the Sanctuary level, so the Sanctuary sets the pace of the whole account. This page collects the main tips and tricks and links to every guide on the site, from the beginner guide to alliance and event walkthroughs.

All Last Asylum Guides

Each card opens a full page with tables, costs and step-by-step advice. The strategy sections further down connect those pages into one plan.

Start and Progress

These pages decide how fast the base grows: the Sanctuary, buildings, research, resources and might.

Heroes, Squads and Gear

These pages cover who to recruit, how to set up a squad and where hero materials should go.

Alliance, Events and Shops

These pages cover group play, timed events, PvP and the places where Diamonds and tokens go.

Tips and Tricks

These habits cost nothing and protect your resources during the first weeks. Each one links to the page that goes deeper.

  1. Follow the chapter quests. Main and chapter quests pay out experience, speedups and hero shards, so they beat random building upgrades in the first days. The beginner guide lists the first steps in order.
  2. Expand only when production keeps up. Every new bed raises hourly grain consumption, and food and herbs run short first when expansion outpaces production. Add beds after your Farm and Herb Garden cover the extra demand.
  3. Build one main squad. Put hero materials into one squad of five heroes before you spread them over three squad slots, and spend star upgrades and Skill Books on those five first. The squads page covers slots and formation.
  4. Clear the daily tasks. Chapter and Daily Tasks fill a reward chest, and login rewards and farm collection cost no resources, so a short daily routine adds up over a week.
  5. Run Development research first. Construction Master and Research Speed shorten every timer that comes after them. Alliance Duel research follows once the Research Lab reaches level 15, which Sanctuary level 16 asks for anyway. The research guide has the order inside each tree.
  6. Join an active alliance. Help from members shortens timers, alliance gifts include Diamonds and speedups, and the alliance shop sells hero shards. The alliance page explains ranks and roles.
  7. Spend Diamonds slowly. Raw Diamond purchases and early construction speedups give the weakest return, so keep Diamonds for hero recruitment. The beginner guide shows where they go.

Upgrade Order

Every other building waits on the Sanctuary, so it leads the queue and the rest follows in a fixed order. The upgrade guide explains each step in detail, and the buildings page lists every building.

  1. Sanctuary: raise it first and keep the buildings it asks for one step ahead of the next level.
  2. Research Lab: start with Development nodes such as Training Ground Unlock, Construction Master and Research Speed.
  3. Alliance Duel research: take it at Research Lab level 15, because its reward nodes unlock the event chests.
  4. Main heroes: stars, skills and levels on the squad you actually use, before secondary heroes.
  5. Gear: push the Gear Workshop and forge pieces for the core heroes after their levels are ready.
  6. Troops: train and promote the highest tier you can, and unlock Elite Troop research last.

The table shows how the Sanctuary levels that matter most line up with the hero level cap, the buildings they ask for and the base build time. Totals count the Sanctuary builds only, before Construction Speed bonuses.

How to Raise Might

Total might is the sum of building might, technology might, hero might, Raven might and soldier might. Heroes are the largest single source, and levels, stars, skills and gear all add to hero might, so your main squad is the cheapest place to gain power. The Sanctuary adds a direct share too: its might rises from 900 at level 1 to 384.3K at level 30.

A steady order works best: main heroes first, then the Sanctuary and the Research Lab, then higher troop tiers and the Raven. Development research comes before combat research, because faster building and research feed every other source. The might page breaks each source down.

Resource Tips

Resources decide how often you can start the next upgrade. Secure steady Timber, Herb and Grain income before you expand, and read the resources page for every way to collect more.

Herbs matter most because the medicine supply decides how long the Sanctuary holds. Once Herb income is stable, put the surplus into the next Sanctuary level from the requirements table.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I upgrade first in Last Asylum Plague?

Upgrade the Sanctuary first, because no other building can pass its level. The Research Lab and Development research come next, then your main heroes, gear and troop tiers. Keep the buildings from the Sanctuary requirement list on schedule so the next level never waits. The upgrade guide gives the full order, and the Sanctuary page lists every requirement.

What is the best research order?

Start with the Development tree, then Alliance Duel research, then Hero, Soldier, Squad 1 and Elite Troop research. Development speeds up building and research, Alliance Duel unlocks event chests, and Elite Troops need many Study Scrolls, so they come last for free-to-play accounts. Open the research guide for the nodes inside each tree.

How do I increase might fast?

Put resources into your main heroes first, since heroes are the largest source of might. Keep the Sanctuary and the Research Lab moving, promote troops to higher tiers and level the Raven. Research development nodes before combat nodes. The might page breaks down the five sources of might in more detail.

Can you play Last Asylum Plague without spending money?

Yes, a free account can keep up by finishing daily tasks, taking part in alliance activity and claiming event milestones, and each of these adds UR hero shards over time. The alliance shop also sells hero shards every week, and Arthur and Marlena are open from the first day. The beginner guide lays out the first week step by step.

Which heroes should I build first?

Build Arthur and Marlena first. Both are UR heroes with no server day condition, and they anchor a starter squad of five Warriors together with Bella, Claire and Celia. Keep your upgrade materials on that single squad instead of spreading them. The tier list ranks every hero, and its best team section shows more squads.
