Shadow in Last Asylum: Plague
Shadow is a UR Ranger Tank, rated S in 2 of 3 popular tier lists. Shadow holds the front row with the highest power of all UR Tanks, 1,075,906 at full build, and weakens the enemy squad with an Energy DMG cut and a DEF cut. Most rankings name Shadow the third UR to build, after Arthur and Marlena.
Shadow Stats
Shadow is a UR Ranger tank. Shadow begins at level 1 with 7,646 HP, 42 DEF and 31 ATK, plus 52 Command (CMD), the troops the hero leads. Maxing out means level 150 and all 50 star steps (10 full stars), which gives 3,197,912 HP, 16,929 DEF and 12,457 ATK, with CMD at 350. Ranked among all 31 heroes, Shadow is 1st in HP, 1st in DEF and 24th in ATK. HP is the best of the three, inside the top five of 31.
The table lists the hero's own stats from level and star upgrades. Gear, base buildings, Ravens, awakening and the exclusive weapon add to them in battle, which is why the full build reaches 1,075,906 power. In power at full build, Shadow is 1st of 31, inside the top five. Level 150 on its own, before any star, gives 2,487,358 HP, 13,169 DEF and 9,690 ATK. Shadow needs 10 shards to unlock and 975 more for the 50 star steps. One UR Hero Omni Shard counts as 1 hero shard. Full stars open the way into the Hall of Honor, with an honor level cap of 600.

Shadow Skills
Shadow fights at melee range and strikes once every 0.83 seconds. The kit has five skills: an auto attack, a mist that hits every enemy, a smoke cartridge that breaks enemy defense, a passive and a support skill. Below, every skill appears with its numbers from skill level 1 to level 40 and the star step that upgrades it. Stars are counted in steps, with five steps for each full star. General rules for levels and stars are in the heroes list.

The two skills that matter most are debuffs. Shadow Hunt hits all enemies for 387.45% to 1,107% ATK Physical DMG and lowers their Energy DMG for 5 seconds, by 5.2% to 13% at first and 22% with all upgrades. Shadow Strike hits enemies in range and lowers their DEF for 3 seconds, by 15.38% to 30% and up to 54% with upgrades. Shadow Veil reduces Energy DMG taken by 8.3% to 20%, and by 35% with upgrades.
Shadow's Role
Shadow is a Tank who plays like a debuffer. The hero stands in the front row and absorbs hits, but the value comes from what the skills do to the enemy squad: lower DEF makes every damage dealer hit harder, and lower Energy DMG makes the enemy hit softer. The auto attack is the weak part of the kit: Smoke Cartridge throws 3 bombs and reaches only 252% ATK per bomb at the top.
The pairing with Arthur is the main reason to build Shadow. Arthur's Earthshattering lowers the Physical DMG that allies take, and Shadow Hunt lowers the Energy DMG that enemies deal, so the two together cover both damage types. Arthur is a Warrior and Shadow is a Ranger, so a squad that runs both gives up part of the faction bonus. The heroes list shows how the bonus works.
Build and Skill Priority
The ranking guides that give an order put the debuffs first. This is the order of the four skills that take Skill Badges.
- Shadow Strike. It recharges every 5 seconds and takes DEF off the enemies for 3 seconds, and stars 15, 35, 45 lift the cut to 54%.
- Shadow Hunt. It hits every enemy and weakens their Energy DMG. Upgrades arrive at stars 10, 30, 50.
- Shadow Veil. It climbs to 35% Energy DMG reduction by stars 20, 45, 50.
- Smoke Cartridge. It is the weakest part of the kit, so it takes badges last.
Stars decide how far the order goes. Shadow Strike reaches its full effect only at star 45, and star 45 is the point where 675 of the 975 shards for all 50 stars are spent. Tenacity comes at hero level 30 with star 40. Gear priorities match other Tanks, with armor and boots before the rest, and the details are on the gear page.
The exclusive weapon Phantom Dagger opens once you hold 30 weapon shards, and 975 more shards carry it up its 50 stars. The top star brings HP 1,251,000, ATK 8,750 and DEF 8,750. Awakening runs 40 levels and costs 2,870 Awaken Shards; there are no skill changes, and the bonuses for each level will appear when his awakening window opens in Era of Revival. How to Get Shadow
Shadow joins the Tavern once the server has run for 6 days, and the hero unlocks with 10 Shadow Shards. The rankings treat Shadow as a premium hero. Shards come mainly from top-up rewards and paid packs, and the chance of Shadow from a standard summon is slim. Recruit tickets, pull odds and the 50-pull pity are explained in the heroes list.
Do not mix up the hero with the event called Moon Shadow Secret. That event is a puzzle mini-game and has no link to Shadow the hero.
Shadow vs Daskal
Shadow and Daskal are the two UR Tanks that the rankings place behind Arthur, and players compare them often. Both attack every 0.83 seconds, and they protect the squad in opposite ways: Shadow weakens the enemy, and Daskal shields the allies.
| Stat | Shadow | Daskal |
|---|---|---|
| Rarity, faction, role | UR Ranger Tank | UR Warrior Tank |
| Power at full build | 1,075,906 | 1,057,192 |
| Strongest skill | Shadow Hunt: hits all enemies, lowers their Energy DMG by up to 22% | Bloodshed Defense: a shield on every ally, up to 684% of max DEF |
| Active skill | Shadow Strike: lowers enemy DEF by up to 54% | Deadly Pierce: 924% ATK Physical DMG and healing |
| Passive | Shadow Veil: Energy DMG taken down by up to 35% | Resolute Fight: a shield for your damage dealer below 50 percent HP |
| Exclusive weapon | Phantom Dagger | Crimson Greatsword |
| How to get | Tavern, once the server is 6 days old, premium shards | Once the server is 27 days old |
| Tier list rating | S in 2 of 3 lists | S in 2 of 2 lists |
Choose by the squad you build. Shadow suits an Arthur and Marlena core that needs Energy DMG cover and a DEF debuff, and a Ranger squad with Louis or Cynthia. Daskal suits a full Warrior squad, where the faction bonus adds up to 20 percent. A Warrior has the counter against Warlocks, and a Ranger has it against Warriors, so Shadow also helps when the enemy squad is Warrior.
Best Team for Shadow
Shadow stands in the front row beside another Tank. The squads below come from the rankings.
| Squad | Heroes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| UR core | Arthur, Marlena, Shadow, Stellar and one flex hero | Covering both Physical and Energy damage |
| Energy burst | Arthur, Daskal, Marlena, Shadow, Cynthia | Burst damage behind two Tanks |
| Ranger squad | Shadow, Louis, Bell, Red Lady, Cynthia | The full 20 percent faction bonus |
| Fights against players | Arthur, Marlena, Shadow, Stellar and a crowd control hero | Damage reduction and debuffs |
In an Arthur and Shadow front row, Arthur covers Physical damage and Shadow covers Energy damage. Add Marlena for damage, Stellar to heal the ally with the lowest HP, and a flex hero for the last slot. For more squads open the best team page, and for row placement read the squads page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Shadow best at?
Shadow is a Ranger Tank who weakens the enemy squad. Shadow Hunt hits every enemy and lowers their Energy DMG by up to 22%, and Shadow Strike lowers enemy DEF by up to 54%. The role fits fights against Energy DMG heroes, where Arthur's Physical DMG reduction does not help. Shadow is a support for the squad's survival more than a damage dealer.
Is Shadow worth it?
Of the 3 lists that rank Shadow, 2 give S, and several rankings call Shadow the best third UR to build after Arthur and Marlena. The catch is the price: the shards come mainly from top-up rewards and paid packs, so the hero suits accounts that already finished Arthur and Marlena.
How do I get Shadow?
Shadow joins the Tavern once the server has run for 6 days and unlocks with 10 Shadow Shards. Several rankings treat Shadow as a premium hero, because the shards come mainly from top-up rewards and paid packs and the chance of a standard summon is slim. Check that the hero appears in your hero list before you spend anything on Shadow shards.
Which skill should I level first for Shadow?
Level Shadow Strike first. Its DEF cut grows from 15.38% at skill level 1 to 54% with all upgrades, and it recharges every 5 seconds. Shadow Hunt comes second and Shadow Veil third. The auto attack Smoke Cartridge and the support skill come last.
Is Shadow or Daskal better?
Shadow is the better partner for Arthur, because Shadow covers the Energy DMG that Arthur's Physical DMG reduction misses. Daskal fits a full Warrior squad and unlocks once the server is 27 days old. Shadow has 1,075,906 power against 1,057,192 for Daskal, and both are rated S, so choose by the squad you build.
