Last Asylum Plague Cheese Trap
Cheese Trap is a permanent alliance event where members power up a trap with Mouse Lure and then attack a captured Cheese Thief in rallies for 30 minutes. An alliance needs at least 20 members, and an R4 or R5 member starts it. Your damage decides your personal reward, the alliance total decides the shared reward, and the top damage dealer gets a bonus multiplier of up to 10x.
How Cheese Trap Works
The event has four stages: selection, preparation, extermination and reward settlement. In the selection stage, an R4 or R5 member chooses the trap difficulty and the start time. The alliance needs the Cheese Trap alliance building for this, and the trap wants 20 members. The choice must be made before 22:00 server time on the last day of each event period, or the period expires. Pick a time when most members are online, because the fight lasts only 30 minutes.
Two difficulties exist, Cheese Trap I and Cheese Trap II. Both can be placed, but they cannot run at the same time. Each session needs a newly placed trap and fresh Mouse Lure donations, so plan the donations again for every run.
Preparation Phase Donations
After the setup, every alliance member can donate Mouse Lure to the trap. A donation gives alliance contribution points and builds the damage bonus that all members use in the next stage. The trap has five buff stages, and each stage asks for more donations than the one before. Once the trap is fully donated, you can keep donating for contribution points, but the damage bonus does not grow. One guide lists Daily Quest chests as a source of Mouse Lure.
| Buff level | Donations | Hero damage dealt |
|---|---|---|
| Buff stage 1 | 15 | +3% |
| Buff stage 2 | 20 | +7% |
| Buff stage 3 | 25 | +12% |
| Buff stage 4 | 30 | +18% |
| Buff stage 5 | 35 | +25% |
A full trap gives +25% hero damage in the next stage, so treat the donation stage as part of the fight. The buff applies to the heroes of every member who attacks the Cheese Thief.
Extermination Phase Rallies
The Extermination Phase starts when an R4 or R5 member activates the trap by hand. It lasts 30 minutes. The Cheese Thief is caught by the trap, and members attack it with rallies. Only one trap can be active at a time. Rallies started by R5 members and alliance officials deal 5 percent extra damage, and rallies started by R4 members deal 2.5 percent extra damage. That is why one guide advises members to join leader rallies instead of making their own.
Rally cycling matters most in these 30 minutes, and the strategy section below explains the loop and how to cut march time.
Cheese Trap Levels
The trap has 10 levels in the current setup. Lower levels open first, and higher levels open as the server ages and as the alliance deals enough damage. The target grows from 44M at level 2 to 42B at level 10, so every new level asks for a much heavier alliance effort than the last.
| Trap level | Opens | Alliance damage target |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | From the start | - |
| Level 2 | From the start | 44M |
| Level 3 | Server day 7 | 170M |
| Level 4 | Server day 14 | 530M |
| Level 5 | Server day 21 | 1.4B |
| Level 6 | Server day 30 | 3.8B |
| Level 7 | Server day 45 | 8B |
| Level 8 | Server day 60 | 14B |
| Level 9 | Server day 90 | 25B |
| Level 10 | Server day 120 | 42B |

Cheese Trap Rewards
Rewards come in three parts: personal damage rewards, alliance damage rewards and the MVP multiplier. The tables below list the tiers for trap level 1. Higher trap levels need more damage to defeat the trap.
Personal Damage Rewards
| Personal damage | 5m speedups | Diamonds | Gearstone | Refined Iron | Resource Supply (General) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-2.4M | 7 | 50 | 240 | 15 | 2 |
| 2.4M-4.8M | 11 | 60 | 400 | 23 | 3 |
| 4.8M-7.2M | 16 | 70 | 560 | 32 | 4 |
| 7.2M-12M | 19 | 80 | 650 | 37 | 4 |
| 12M and above | 21 | 90 | 740 | 41 | 5 |
Alliance Damage Rewards
Alliance rewards use the combined damage of both traps. Every tier also gives Speedup Supply and Gearstone, and the Antitoxin and resource amounts rise with each tier.
| Alliance damage | Speedup Supply | Gearstone | Antitoxin | Timber, Grain and Herb each |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-75M | 2 | 112 | 64.3K | 87.1K |
| 75M-150M | 2 | 124 | 164K | 186K |
| 150M-225M | 2 | 136 | 316K | 390K |
| 225M-375M | 2 | 148 | 512K | 547K |
| 375M and above | 2 | 160 | 705K | 684K |
Cheese Trap Strategy
The reward caps at trap level 1 are 12M personal damage, 375M alliance damage and 48M effective damage for the MVP multiplier. After your alliance reaches these caps, members can stop attacking without losing rewards. This lets a strong alliance finish early and keep troops healthy.
- Coordinate Cheese Trap I and II before the event. A player who joins Cheese Trap I cannot join Cheese Trap II, and that includes R4 and R5.
- Once the alliance milestones are reached, R4 and R5 members can start rallies with only one hero, ideally the one with the lowest command value. Members keep the leader bonus while the leader loses fewer troops.
- Turn on Offline Participation for yourself and tell the alliance to do the same, so a rally fills even when members sleep.
- Keep the Mouse Lure donations done before the start. A half-filled trap gives a smaller bonus for all 30 minutes.
For stronger lineups, pick heroes from the best team section and raise research that boosts damage, which the research page explains. Gear also adds damage in every rally, and the gear page shows which pieces to upgrade first.
Reducing Rally Travel Time
The fight lasts 30 minutes, so every minute a lineup spends marching is a minute without damage. Keep the trap near the alliance assembly point so rally marches stay short. About 5 minutes before the start, move the alliance assembly marker next to the trap, and have the rally leaders and the members who will join teleport close to it at the same time. Short marches mean more rallies fit into the window.
Continuous Rally Cycling
R4 and R5 members should open a rally as soon as the Cheese Thief is caught and keep the lineups rotating with this loop:
- Start the first rally immediately.
- While the first lineup marches, prepare the second lineup.
- When the second lineup starts to march, recall the first lineup and queue it again.
The loop removes the downtime between marches, so rallies run without a gap for the whole 30 minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Cheese Trap in Last Asylum?
Cheese Trap is a permanent alliance event. Your alliance builds a trap, members donate Mouse Lure to power it up, and then the whole alliance attacks a captured Cheese Thief by rally during a 30 minute window. Damage dealt decides personal and alliance rewards. Check the alliance page for roles and ranks.
How many members does an alliance need?
The trap needs 20 alliance members. An R4 or R5 member must also choose the difficulty, Cheese Trap I or II, and the start time before 22:00 server time on the last day of the event period. If nobody does, the event expires for that period and the alliance cannot take part.
What is Mouse Lure and where does it come from?
Mouse Lure is the donation item for the Preparation Phase. Every donation gives alliance contribution points and a damage bonus for the later fight, up to +25% at buff stage 5. One guide lists Daily Quest chests as a source. After the bonus is full, extra donations still give contribution points.
Can I join Cheese Trap I and II?
Both traps can be placed, but only one runs at a time, and a member who fights in Cheese Trap I cannot fight in Cheese Trap II. That rule includes R4 and R5. Decide in advance who takes which trap, and keep stronger players for the harder one. See the squads page for building your rally lineups.
What happens if I join offline?
With Offline Participation on, your highest-Might hero lineup joins an active rally automatically when 20 seconds remain and a slot is open. The game warns that this can cause heavy soldier losses. Turn it on only when you accept that risk. Hero choice is covered on the tier list.
